A manga reader that translates and reads bubbles aloud

Auto-Reader is built for manga, manhwa, comics and magazines as much as for novels. It glides panel by panel, recognises the text in speech bubbles, translates it in place while keeping the artwork, and can read the dialogue aloud.

Manga panels zooming in one by one as they are read aloud

Smooth panel-by-panel reading

Open a CBZ, CBR, PDF, image EPUB or a set of images and let the reader move from panel to panel, so each one fills your screen. Right-to-left reading is supported for manga, and vertical long-strip comics scroll smoothly. On tablets and foldables, layouts adapt to the bigger screen.

OCR for speech bubbles and scanned pages

Auto-Reader recognises text in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic and Latin scripts. That is what makes translation and read-aloud possible for comics that are just images, and it also makes scanned magazines and books readable by the voice.

Translate manga in place

Instead of showing a translation in a separate box, Auto-Reader places the translated text over the original bubble and keeps the artwork intact. The same works for photos, screenshots and other image pages. Translation runs on your device by default, so your files are not uploaded.

Hear the dialogue

Turn on read-aloud and the natural voices will narrate the bubbles in order. With character voices (beta), different speakers can get different voices, which makes conversations easier to follow when you want to give your eyes a rest.

One library for everything

Manga, comics, magazines, novels and PDFs sit side by side in one library. When you switch to a novel, the same voices work as a text to speech book reader, and you can ask AI questions about a book or document.
